[ laughter ] and finally police in california are investigating a suspicious 911 call that was made from the playboy mansion yesterday. but when they got there,

>> jimmy: yeah. and congratulations. you've done a lot of great stuff. >> thank you, thank you. well, we're seeing some progress. we still have work to do, but over the past three years we've seen a culture shift. now people understand that this is an issue, but we've got partners, people stepping up in ways large and small. we've got better lunches in the schools. we've got companies putting grocery stores in underserved communities. we've got our athletes, our olympians working to get our kids more active. it's really heartening to see. and we are starting to see some of the trends change. a study just came out, the cdc showing that our kids are taking in fewer calories in this decade compared to the last decade. so it is good news. >> jimmy: wow, that's fantastic news. >> but we still have work to do. [ cheers and applause ] >> jimmy: one thing, too, another thing -- i wrote some things down here that you have done. but walmart lowered the cost of fruits, vegetables and whole grains. >> yeah. >> jimmy: that is very important because it's so expensive to get the healthy food. it's so cheap to get a hamburger at a fast food place. >> that's exactly right. >> jimmy: so this is -- i think that was such a major thing and i love that you did that as well. now, you are taking this on tour, right? >> well, we do an anniversary tour every year. and next week we head out on the road. we are going to go to a few cities and states. we are going to go to mississippi. >> jimmy: why is that? why mississippi? >> well, just a few years ago when we launched "let's move," mississippi was identified as the least healthy state in the united states. and in the past few years the obesity rate for children has declined by 13%. so -- [ cheers and applause ] >> jimmy: really? >> yeah. >> jimmy: congratulations, that is great. good job, mississippi. >> good job, mississippi, and we want to highlight that because the governor and the first lady of that state, they really stepped up making changes. there's still work to do, but we are so proud of their accomplishments, and they are a model for other states -- especially in that region. so we're going to go and check it out and highlight what they are doing. >> jimmy: i love that. >> so, very proud.

>> jimmy: very good that you chose to do this. i know when i visited the white house for the first time was for 4th of july. you had a beautiful picnic -- a barbeque for veterans and i went there and i performed stand-up. i was very nervous to meet you guys then, as well. but i saw that you had installed the playground for sasha and malia and i ran right to it. [ laughter ] yeah, i swung on the swing set. yeah. >> it was hot. >> jimmy: it was very hot that day. yeah, very, very hot. and i was wearing a suit that day. >> yeah, the president kind of dogged you out. >> jimmy: yeah, he really did, yeah. he said, [ imitating barack obama ] "didn't get the memo? it's a barbeque." experience and i think i just -- i don't know. for some reason, i felt -- there are these still photos of me that -- where i'm, like, making these huge, like, gestures, where i look like i'm some kind of, like political, like, titan. but it felt like many my moment to shine. >> jimmy: oh, really? >> i was very excited about it. >> jimmy: what did you speak about? >> oh, you know, just the usual. [ scattered cheers ] >> jimmy: and he was -- and they said this whole thing. i had to go meet the president. "we'd like the host to meet the president when he comes around the back parking garage, whatever." so, i go, "okay." so, i went to go meet him and i

had a sign that said, "barack." you know? [ laughter ] like you have at the airport. and he came and he was just super-cool. and he gets right -- like, he just looks right in your eyes. >> i know. >> jimmy: and a really charming guy. and then -- very presidential. and then, we went back, to go over the slow jam with the writers and he was going-- at the end, normally, when we do it with brian williams or whoever we do it with -- at the end of slow jam -- we just basically read a news story and make it really sexy -- and at the end, usually we go -- [ smooth ] "ohh yeahh." and barack goes -- [ imitating barack ] [ brusquely ] "oh yeah." [ laughter ] i go, "no, no, no. could you put a --" and -- goes, "no." [ laughter ] >> no. i appreciate that though. >> jimmy: i appreciate that too, yeah! >> that seems more presidential. >> jimmy: i tried to talk him into it. he's like, "no." >> yeah, no -- probably for the better. yeah. >> jimmy: but then, what he did was -- when he was done, he took the mic. he put it straight out and just dropped it on the stage. [ laughter ] and it was pretty rad. and then he -- yeah! and then came up to me afterwards, during commercial break, and i go, "that was

great. thank you, mr. president." he goes -- [ as obama ] "did you see how i dropped the mic?" [ laughter ] "i did see how you dropped the mic." sort of get a feel for -- i mean, what do you feel like when you have, like, a totally dead audience? like sometimes -- >> jimmy: it never happens in the greatest city in the world, new york city. [ cheers and applause ] big apple. so, sometimes, when i have a rough couple jokes, "i'm like, oh, this -- tonight's gonna be rough." but tonight wasn't one of those nights. but like, when the curtain opens, that's the moment 'cause i'm backstage maybe 30 seconds, so i'm hearing the roots play, and then, when the curtain, you know -- >> panic -- panic sets in. >> jimmy: no, i think i go into a different -- i just go into, like, kind of machine mode. like, this is fun. like, i look forward to it and i -- >> well, that's why you're so good at you show. >> jimmy: oh, stop. no, i mean, well, you too. but, i mean, so you look forward to doing it? >> i always look forward to doing it and i have to say, like, the moment -- i mean, honestly, the play really, like -- this character just kind of, like, shoots out of a canon and you just have to kind of, you know, just take it for all it's worth. it's very exciting to be performing in front of, you know, 1,400 people every night
